Phillip Nicholl is a solicitor with considerable experience in civil and property litigation, with a strong background in mortgage-related disputes, enforcement and title rectification. He worked Eversheds Sutherland for nine years, where he acted for financial institutions and commercial clients on a wide range of contentious matters.
Phillip has experience assisting with complex litigation, including property disputes, issues relating to capacity, claims involving individuals outside England and Wales, personal insolvency and business lending matters. He has supported cases through to hearing, including preparing papers, instructing Counsel and drafting submissions, and is confident working across all stages of the litigation process.
Known for his organised and methodical approach, Phillip is experienced in managing high-volume and technically detailed caseloads. He is particularly valued for his calm and practical manner when working with clients, including in sensitive situations and matters involving litigants in person. He is also committed to supporting others, having delivered internal training and assisted in the development of colleagues.
Alongside his full-time role as a paralegal, Phillip qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in December 2024 before cross-qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2026.
Outside of work, Phillip lives in Cardiff and regularly trains and competes as an international karateka. He represents Wales at the European Shotokan Karate Championships annually and at the World Shotokan Karate Championships on a biennial basis. His achievements include winning a bronze medal in the over-21 team sparring event in 2023.
