Helen Wilson is a highly experienced Litigation Lawyer with over 19 years’ post-qualification experience acting for leading financial institutions, public bodies, commercial organisations and professionals. Known for her calm authority, strategic thinking and exceptional client care, Helen specialises in complex, high-value disputes and regulatory matters. She also sits as a Deputy District Judge on the Welsh Circuit, where she is ticketed for Civil Litigation and Family Financial Remedy work.
Helen spent much of her career with Eversheds LLP—now Eversheds Sutherland. Over nearly two decades, she has led and managed large multi-disciplinary legal teams, supervised senior lawyers and paralegals, and delivered commercially focused advice across a broad spectrum of contentious work.
Her litigation expertise spans breach of contract, professional negligence, financial product disputes, fraud, undue influence, title rectification, restitution claims, broker commission disputes, and property litigation. Helen is particularly experienced in consumer credit and mortgage-related litigation, having overseen large-scale portfolios for major clearing banks and utilising legal technology to drive efficiency, compliance and best practice.
In addition to her contentious practice, Helen spent two years working within the firm’s Risk and Compliance team, advising on regulatory obligations, ethics, governance and internal investigations. She has designed and delivered firmwide training on the SRA Codes of Conduct, modern slavery and broader risk management frameworks, and has liaised directly with regulators including the SRA and ICO.
Helen is recognised for her strong stakeholder management skills and has held responsibility for key institutional client relationships, setting strategic direction and supporting business teams with operational, regulatory and litigation risk. She is a contributing voice within industry initiatives, including the Addressing Financial Difficulties Group and the Elixir Group, and has previously been recognised by The Legal 500 for her expertise.
As a Deputy District Judge, Helen presides over a wide range of civil and financial remedy cases, including commercial disputes, insolvency applications, personal injury, declaratory relief, and consumer matters.
