Junior Solicitor

Location: Barry, South Wales
Type: Full-Time, Office-Based
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE

We’re seeking a Junior Solicitor with a criminal law background to join our growing team in Barry.
You don’t need experience in tree law — we’ll teach you that. 

What we need is someone who’s confident with court processes, hearings, advocacy, and case management.

You’ll work closely with our senior solicitors on a range of cases involving planning enforcement, environmental law, and local authority prosecutions. The role is office-based, giving you hands-on experience, mentoring, and the chance to develop your legal career in a unique and positive field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage case files relating to planning, environmental, and enforcement matters.
  • Attend and assist with court hearings and tribunal proceedings.
  • Liaise with clients, barristers, and expert witnesses.
  • Draft legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and support senior solicitors in case preparation.
  • Contribute to the firm’s broader mission of promoting environmental responsibility through law.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor (1–5 years PQE).
  • Experience in criminal law, advocacy, or litigation.
  • Strong understanding of court processes and case management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with an interest in expanding into environmental or planning law.
  • Based locally or willing to commute to our Barry office.
